A few of our citizens attended
Guthrie April 1st being interested
in the remonstrance of Matt Spang
against the petition of Jas. VanDe-
venter before the board of County
Commissioners. Spang d.d not show
up but was ably represented by Dr.
Sharp who claimed Spang had been
sand-bagged and was unable physi-
cally to. be present. The com miss-
very patiently listened to the doctor
for a long time, and requested the
good doctor to file his bond and
make his assertions good under oath
as required by law, which the doctor
very wisely declined to do.
The commissioners then canvassed
the signers of the petitiou and find
ing it was signed by nearly every
business man and tax-payer in Or-
lando and by a far greater number
than required by law, very properly
p-Mited the license.
