cation, after a fortnight's sojourn iu
Billings.
The sale at Mr, Prollock's place on
December 5 was well attended, and
fair prices vuoted.
Mrs. Bushnell and Earnest Pinnix
have been on the sick list. Both are
now convalescent.
Pleasant View school is progressing
nicely under the guidance of Miss
Bailey, with 40 pupils enrolled.
John Claunch deove from Mulhall
Wednesday to visit relatives and to
take his little daughter Chloe home.
A pleasaut social was enjoyed at the
hospitable home of Mr. and Mrs.
James Claunch (Saturday evening.
ROBBED THE GRAVE.
A startling incident, is unrated by
John Oliver of Philadelphia, as fol-
lows: "I was in an awful condition.
My skin was almost yellow, eyessunk-
en, tongue coated, pain continually
iu back and sides, no appetite, grow-
ing weeker day by day. Three physi-
cians had given me up, Then I was

Patrick Burns and daughter, Miss
Anna, have gone to Illinois for a
month's visit to the former'9 mother.
Louie Peebler has deserted his post
of duty as clerk of district No. 98, and
chief wrangler at Pleasaut View liter-
ary society.
Misses Morton and Bailey, teachers
at Potter and Pleasant View schools,
respectively, made a flying trip to
Perry Saturday.
Taswell Kerr is engineering the
saw mill on Mr. Gaston's place for
Messrs. Dykemann & Murdoch. They
are doing a land office ^business.
Misses Howe, Van VVyck and Haught
of Orlando, accompanied by Messrs.
Howe, Keed and Hysell, attended the
debate at Pleasaut View last Thurs-
day evening.
Bible school aud Christian Endeav-
or, with George Majors as superin-
tendent, aud Abram Koch as presi-
dent, are in progress at the Pleasant
View school house.
The question debated last Thurs-
day evening at literary was: Resolved
'•That Washington deserves more
credit for defending the United States
than does Columbus for discovering*
America." Decision in favor of the
negative side.
