Call For District Convention.
Pursuant to the action taken by the
Republican Congressional Committee
ot the Frst Congressional District ol
Oklahoma in meeting assembled at
Guthrie. Oklahoma, January 7, 1908,
and by the authority vested in me as
chairman of said committee, a Repub-
lican District Convention is hereby
called to meet at Perry, Ohlahoma, at
1 1 o'clock A .M. on Thursday, March
5, I908. for the following purposes.
To elect two delegates and two
alternates from the First Congressional
District to the Republican National
Convention to be held in Chicago, 111
J une 1 6, 1 908.
To elect one presidential elector to
be recommended and approved by the
Republican State Convention to be
held at Oklahoma City, March 11,
I908. *
Tne basis of representation from
each county to the District Convention
shall be as follt ws:—One delegate for
each 100 votes or major fraction there
of cast for Hon Bird S. McGuire at
the September 1907 election.
The following apportionment gives
the nu,nber of delegates allowed to
each county.
Logan 36, Pawnee I5, Lincoln 34,
Osage I4 Garfield 29, Payne 20, Kay
24, Noble 14, Kingfisher 20 and
Grant I7.
Each member of the Congressional
Committee together with the Chairman
of the County Central Committee of
their respective counties shall j >in in a
call for a County Convention to be
held at the county seat of their county I
prior to the District Convention.

VTr. Fredrick's children are sick at
this writing.
Mr Herman and Miss Lillie Boley,
took dinner with Mr. Grenninger and
family. Sunday.
Mi«s Barbara Kindschi is staying wi h
Mrs Fredrick this week.
On Friday, Mr. John Ohm was get-
ting some shings that he had bought
on Ihursday, and 011 his way home he j
stopped to talk to H. Kindschi and his
team ran away. If John had gone to
church on Thursday and listened to
the sermon, the accident would not
have happened.
School Notes,
We have a new book for specimens
of school work in which we intend to
preiterve specimens of the best work
done by pup-Is ot all grades. Last
year we made a very interesting col-
lection and sent to the Jamestown
Exposition

their place of residence so they do not
attend our school now.

Mr. Brown, of El Reno. State Cus-
todian of the Masonic order, was in
town Monday and Tuesday.
