TAKE OUT YOUR PUBLIC DRINKING CUP.
Dr. Childers Supt of Health for
Logan Co. is making a stir through
out the county In his efforts to enforce
the health laws or the state.
Just now the public drinking cup is
receiving attention, and a part of the
public, (the unthinking part) is giving
the superintendent Rome very unoum.-
plimentarv attention in turn. Last
Saturday the "public cups" disappear
ed from all the stores in Mulhall, as a
consequence an unusual (leu r;eof
thirst developed which could not be
satistled, through water was plenty,
unless the thirsty one had a private
cup Like many other laws now com
ing into use, tills one is not being well
received by those who have not taken
the time to study the reasons for it.
Beginning with the school booses the
public drinking cup lias been cut out,
and many seem to think that the law
stops only at public places such as
school houses railway trains depots
etc- but is there any reason why a pub
lie drinking cup should be exc'nden
from a school house where none but
healthy people and those free from
communicable diseases are supposed
to assemble and be allowed lull store
or other public places of business
where llieie are no exclusions on ac-
count of tuburculosls or other such
diseases? If the law lias any reason or
right to exist at all It must be far
reaching enough to cover every case
of possible effectton Get the drinking
cup habit, carry yours with vuu, and
the trouble will all be over.

THE FOLLOWING LETTER TELLS ITS
OWN STORY
Oklahoma City, Oct. 11, lull,
'lhe ICnterprise, Mulhall, Okia
Dear Sii:
Believing tuat you are Inter
ested In perpetuating republican con-
trol nationally, aim the redemption of
Oklahoma from the hands of an In
competent democrat c party; tliat you
reali/.e thai republican success next
year depends upon the nomination of
a candidate iu full accord with a pro-
gressive and constructive spirit and
platform, we address you to ask that
you semi us the na nes aud addresses
of leading progressive republican*) in
vour county. Ifymi will do tills and
attend to it at once you will be doing
tlie cause a very timely service.
Very truly yours,
O. II Mltseher, Pres.
To the above letter tile Enterprise
replitsSun! I Have been a Republican
for fifty years. Before, during and
since the war. ln view of tne fact
thai during these years no party or
body or men, in this, or any other
country has done as much for the up-
lift of lhe people, of our own country
as well as the nations of the earth
along the lines of political, civic and
Industrial benefits, and no party is
better lit.ted than the republican
party to day, to fulfill tbe work In
hand, and to apprehend and seize
new opportunities as they arise. I
believe the republican party has the
right to the use of the most expres-
sive qualifying adjectives distinguish-
ing It as aggressive ami progressive.
But! adjectives are handy Instruments
and may be applied In many deceptive
ways. Have you not heard, even, the
slogan, "Let the People Rule" applied
to the democratic party?
May I ask the leaders of "The Pro-
gressive Republican League" to sub-
mit plans and specifications of a
•'Progressive Republican "
I will then make a canvass and try
to match up some of those here, who
as far as any outward indications
show, are not looking for any quail tier
for their long standing republicanism.
With this matter clarified the Enter
prise stands ready to help push the
car of political progress in the Repub-
lican parly.
