Word to this effect has been >
received by Miss Lena Speer,
county home demonstration
agent, from the extension divis-
ion at Stillwater. Mrs. Fraser,
assistant state club agent, will
chaperone the party. Eleven
counties will send girl club mem-
bers; ten counties will send boys,
and nine counties will send either
a boy or girl.
The winners are to be judged
by the state board at Stillwater,
who will examine annual reports
as soon as they are turned in.
Contestants will he judged from
their annual club report and story
of the year's work, Each con-
testant must be sixteen years o'd
and have been two years in club
work. Among the points on
which they will be judged are the
number of years in club work;
demonstrations completed; the
number and kind of exhibits
made; experience in judging
teams and contests; number of
club meetings attended during
the year; a story on the benefils
derived from club work.

Word was received here this
week to the effect that the di.
rectors of the Lee highway had
decided to lun the road to Sny-
der and thence to Frederick and
Davidson instead of taking the
proposed "cut off" from Lawton
via Faxon and Chattanooga to
| Frederick. Committees from
Frederick, Faxon and this place
have worked almost constantly
to secure the latter route, but it
seems from this that their efforts
have failed.

Hallowe'en Party
(Reported.)
On Tuesday night, October 30,
the Sunbeam class of the Com-
munity Sunday school gave a
Hallowe'en party. Everyone was
masked and tney all had lots of
fun trying to recognize each-
j other.
After aII had unmasked they
'played Hallowe'en games. Re-
l freshments were served and then
of course everyone said they had
had a delightful time.

For tivo weeks the Sunnyside
school children and their teacher.
Mr. Arline Havens, had been
preparing a social for the people
of the district on Hallowe'en.
Invitations with drawings on
them :>t the black cat and jack-
o'-lar.kern were sent out by the
pupils. Wednesday evening aft
er school several of the boys
joined the working force and
helped to prepare the schoolroom
lor the social with appropriate
decorations.
The program began promptly
at eight o'clock and ?onsisted of
songs, readings and contests and
furnished two hours of interest-
ing and pleasurable entertain-
ment.
