Frank R. Harris, of Hobart, win

The three year old child of Mr.
and Mrs. Steve Putnam died Mon-
day morning at i o'clock after u
short illness and was buried the
same day iu the city cemetery.
Mr. Lee is employed at Baker's
livery baru.
A daughter was born to Mr. and
Mrs. .Elliott on July 2 and died a
few hours after birth and was in-
terred in the city cemetery the
next afternoon. Mrs. Elliott is
quite ill with slow tever.
C. C. Crosby, of Sulphur
Springs, Texas, an old friend of
Bert Mayfield, came in Tuesday
evening to spend several days buy-
ing grain.
M. C. LeMaster returned Tues-
day from Mexico aud Arizona,
where be has been spending the
past tew days.
S. B. Edwards, a leading real
estate and immigration agent of
of Eldorado, was iu towu ou busi-
ness Tuesday.
Miss Harper LeMaster, who was
called to Goliad, Texas, by the ill-
ness and subsequent death of her
father,, returned to her duties in
Altus Tuesday. Miss LeMaster
has the sympathy of many friends
in her bereavement.
Bert Mayfield, bookkeeper at R.
C. Johnson's will leave the first of
next week accompanied by his fam-
ily, for points in Texas, where he
will visit friends and take a vaca-
tion. In his absence C. E. Ruth-
ruff will have charge of the books.
Marvin Wooldridge departed
Sunday for Gainsville. Texas, ac-
companied'by his family. He has
an excellent position there with
his father in the lumber business.
The Times will keep him posted on
home news.
Mr. Rice, the iasurance agent,
and Will Avery, accompanied by
Misses Campbell and Turner drove
to Mangum Sunday and took the
train to Hobart where they wit-
nessed the ball game between Ho-
bart and Altus, returning Sunday
night.
A. B. McNutt came in Friday
from Shreveport, La., and will
spend several weeks with relatives
here. He was accompanied by
Mrs. A. B. McNutt, junior, who
has been visiting at Shreveport and
Texarkana.
Messrs. Wm. J. Gibson and
Andrew J. Payne' two prominent
farmers of the Blair neighborhood,
were in the city Monday on busi-
ness.
J. G. Adkins has returned from
a three weeks trip to his old home
at Coal Creek, Tenn., where they
mine more coal than any other
place in the nation, and where he
learned the coal business. He at-
tended the Kentuckians' Home
Com -g, at Louisville, and heard
splendid addresses by Adlai E.
Stevenson and Henry Watterson.
F. R. Wildman, of Blair, was in
town Sunday, having driven down
on business. Mr. Wildman says
that his company is meeting wiih
great success in boring for gas and
oil in the Gotebo field, and that
the two wells already brought in
are surpassing all expectations.
They are still drilling and expect
to bring in several more soon.
