Obituary
October 19th, 1907.
Again the death angel has visited
the world and claimed as its own
one of our precious jewels. It was
the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A.
Simson, and the jewel, that of
their only child, a father's pride,
and a mother's joy. Moffat was
12 years. 2 months and 10 days
old, he was a dear good boy, to
know him was to love him.
He was loved for hii affectionate,
loving, cheerful and sunny dispo-
sition. He leaves a dear father and
mother, many relatives, and a host
of friends to mourn the less. To
them we would say, look up through
your tears and say, Dear Lord,
thy will not ours be done. And
remember that, "Tis not all of life
to live, nor all of death to die.
And dear little Moffat has won the
victory, without the battle, the
crown without the conflict. His
little toys which you treasure so
dear, are but living remem-
brances of his stay with you here.
Bereft ones all;
He has gone on before;
To meet us on tha*- bright, bright
shore.
Could you see his smiling face
Connected in that happy place
You would not wish him back a-
gain;
But say, Dear Boy with God re-
main.

The Insurance Trust
St. Louis, Dec. 14.—When the
investigation into the alleged trust
of insurance companies doing bus-
iness in Missouri was resumed to-
day, Assistant Attorney General
Ferriss continued his efforts to
show that the sixty-seven insur-
ance companies are in an agree-
ment to fix and control rates.
While admitting that as a gener-
al rule they have adhered to the
Waterworth rate, witnesses for
the insurance companies assert that
they have cut the rate frequently
when competition necessitated such
action. The "Waterworth rate"
which appears to figure as
the keynote o* the state's case, is
a book of estimates compiled by
James Waterworth of St. Louis in
reference to the value of property,
the risk involved and the insurance
rate that should apply. The insur-
ance agents say that they have
nothing to do with its ownership
or publication, and it is compiled
for the guidance of only those who
wish to use it.
