Arthur J. Baker was arrested
Sunday evening by Deputy Sheriff
Bob Bledsoe on the charge of vag-
rancy. He was taken to jail to
await his trial which is set for
today. He is the young man who
has been about town for several
weeks claiming to be a school
teacher and whom many have
thought was a woman masquerad-
ing as a man.

Eldorado Items.
From the Courier, September u,
Last Monday night fifteen of our
energetic young men met for the
purpose of organizing a band in
our town.
Mr. and Mrs. Otis Connolly left
Thursday for Oklahoma City where
Mr. Connolly will be interested in
the lumber business with a broth-
er. Mr. Connolly has been the
efficient pharmacist for Lane &
Pendleton the past year. He and
estimable wife made many friends
while here. W. R .Ward, a for-
mer pharmacist for the Corner
Drug arrived in Eldorado from
Bridgeport, Texas, and will take
Mr. Connolly.
W. A. Criswell, one of our
worthy citizens, was married Tues-
day morning in Ft. Worth to Mrs.
Glenn, sister of D. A. Currie, of
this city. The couple arrived in
Eldorado yesterday morning and
have gone to housekeeping in Mr.
Criswell's residence in the north
part of town. Mr. Criswell is an
old resident of this place and one
of its most worthy citizens. Mrs.
Glenn formerly lived here and is
highly esteemed by all who know
her.
The four rural carriers from El-
dorado Saturday received new uni-
forms which can now be seen
worn daily by the proud posses-
sors. The new uniforms were
dedicated Sunday and were worn
to a dinner given the carriers by
ex-postmistress Drew at her home
two miles southeast of town. All
the carriers and their families
were present at the dinner save
one. A good time is reported by
everyone.
Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Myers, of
San Louis Potosi, Old Mexico, are
in the city visiting Mrs. Myers,
cousin, Mrs. S. G. Ashhy. Mr.
Myers is here for the purpose of
interesting our citizens in a min-
ing company to develop mines in
Old Mexico. He has succeeded in
getting the feeling to such a pitch
that it is believed that a company
will be organized in Eldorado.
Mr. Myers owns several acres of
land in Old Mexico and relates
some very flattering prospects for
Americans in that undeveloped
country.
