We present, here extracts from a
speech made hy Frank Mathews, tbe
man the democrats are striving to get
the people of Oklahoma to vote for
that he may represent their interest
at Washington. These extracts are
given in a speech made by II n. K. B.
Forrest, of Rl Reno, at Watonga Oct.
29th. Mr. Forrest has been a leading
democrat and prominently mentioned
as a candidate for delegate to con-
gre:«. The following from Mr Mat-
hews was taken verbatim, as he utter
ed the words, oy Miss Laura Van Dyne,
an expert stenographer veil known
by some of the Mulhall people:
"Now,gentlemen, that Conven-
tion at Oklahoma City had a great

Voters interested in s'atehood are
urged to be on l heir guard as to the
methods adopted by Mose Anderson

Jaysi'r thccampaign. The red posters
of warning is one of tlie tricks. This
pester urges democrats to be at the
polls early and late, reciting in scare-
head fashion the danger of mixed
schools alleged to be in the Hamilton
hill, the ti.el'l of *244,000 by Governor
Ferguson, an 1 o; her rot tha' is an in-
sult to the intelligence of any demo-
crat who lives but 011 his prejudices
alone. The methods of these pre-
sumptions leaders are shameful and
cannot win in this enlightened terri-
tory riie plank in the Hamillottbill
relating to free schools Is identical
with the planks in every other state-
hood bill introduced in congress for
Mulhall any stale, and would lie unconstitu-
tional if i< did not provide for a free
school system. The state has the
power to arrange for mixed or separ-
ate schools as it likes. Cetigress could
not regulate this if it would, and
would not if It could The people of
the state must say. .So do iif.t lei
those political tricksters, in Iheir ra-
pacious greed for spoils, deceive you.
