Prof. H. A. Jenkins, of Willow, was
in the city the later part of last
week. Prof. Jenkins was principal of
the school at Willow last year, and
as such made for himself an envia-
ble reputation. He will teach the
coming year at the Pleasant Valley
school, a few miles east of Willow.
Miss May ^Wilson returned last week
from a three weeks* Visit in Still-
water and Shawnee After attending
tbe closing exercises of the A. a m.
College, Miss Wilson departed for
Shawnee with her bid school chum,
Miss Moore.
County Weigher W. O. Byars is
authority for the statement that ap-
proximately 20,000 bales of cotton
were marketed in .Mangum last year.
This Is an increase of something like
7,000 bales of the amount marketed
in 1911-12, and la about the same
amount sold here in 1910.
Lem Tittle, son of Sheriff Tittle,
wbo has been attending tbo law de-
partment of the University of Oklaro-
ma, came in the latter part of last |
week. Mr. Tittle has been making
good at Norman, not only In bis stu-
dies, but baa acquired quite a reputa-
tion in the various athletic events.
