from school last week on account
of sickness.
A birthday dinner was given
at Cruzan's last Friday for Mrs.
Cruzan's father.
Nola Cruzan visited with
Mary Harrell Sunday.
Miss Celia Harmon who has
been working in the Indian
school at the Sac & Fox Agency
returned home last Friday.
C. C, Riggins has moved his
family to New Mexico where
he has pui chased land. Mr.
Riggins is one of our well
known citizens and we hope he
will prosper in his new home.
Mary Hixon has been absent
from school on account of bad
weather.
Emma Harrell has been absent
from school this week.
A plesant party was held at
the home of M. Harrell on last
Monday night. They gathered
in very inocently and gave Mr.
Harrell quite a nice surprise for
his fifty fourth birthday. Those
present were Missis Lizzie and
Order to day a gallon of good
Rye or Bourban whiskey from
Halloway at Cleveland. He
guarantees everything.
Thomas Symes and family re-
turned from Central, Ark., after
a month's visit with relatives.

Mrs. S. M. Cox, of Tryon was
in Cushing Monday and Tues
day, visiting her daughter Mrs.
P. D. Mitchell.
James Lee, of Cushing was
arrested Tuesday and taken to
Stillwater. He is charged with
selling liquor without license.
New samples 1907 wall papers
are in. Menefee.
Mr. and Mrs. Sid Stowers
mourn the loss of an infant three
days old which died last Satur-
day. The remains were laid to
rest in the N'ew Zion jJOemetery
Sunday.
Since Brink Bros, sold their
drug stock, the mail distribution
for the old town has been moved
to Gorham's store. "Dad"
Lambert is the mail carrier.
An eight month old child of
Robert Ramey and wife, who
live northwest of town, died last
Tuesday morning. The cause
of death was whooping cough.
Floyd Griffith who lives south
west of town had two horses
stolen from the hitch rack in the
old town last Monday night.
