Liable to Loose Job.
The following is part of the
charge given by Judge Sulz
bacher at the February term of
court at Okmulgee to the grand
jury. He is a federal appointee:
Gentlemen of the jury: The
constitutional convention is still
assembled in the city of Guthrie.
The delegates are discharging
their duties faithfully, and the
best interest of their constituents
is their ardent zeal.
They were together for a long-
er period than had been expect-
ed, but thsir efforts are so honor-
able, tkeir rrsponsibilities so
weighty, their functions so grave
that they should not be in haste
They consented to become the
representatives of the people o
Indian Territory, and they
should ever receive their re-
cognition. They absented

ent system of laws and strict)
abeyances to the same is still a
solemn function. You gentle-
men of the grand jury shall con-
tinue to examine into the com-
mission of offenses.
This you have been doing since
courts have been established
for this territory. You will
assist the court to uphold the
piece and dignity of the United
States; and the court and her
officials will stand faithfully by
their duties, as they vowed to do
under the sanctity of the oath,
until their retirement."
