What is the Federal Reserve
System Doing for You?
Have you noticed how much of the pa-
per money you handle consists of Feder-
al Reserve notes?
Federal Reserve notes in circulation
constitute about one-third of the general
stock of money in the United States.
They form about one-half of the stock of
money in the country held outside of the
Federal Reserve System.
You can accept Federal Reserve notes
freely. They are backed by about One
Fourth of the estimated Gold Supply of
the Entire World.

PLANTIN' TIME
By Aunt Aggie
Do you think a farmer's dreadin' the
beginnin' of his crop,
Fearin', after all, that maybe prices
may go on an' drop—
That it's goin' to be time wasted, jest
another summer's grind,
An' that when the season's over, he'll
be farther, still, behind?
If you do, you're guessin' wrong, sir,
tho there might've been some talk
At the close of this last season, that
the farmer folks'd balk;
Why, bless your soul, there ain't noth-
in' that c'd hold 'im out o' line
When the soil smells sort o' musty an'
it comes 'round plantin' time.
Plantin' fever's je? like spring, a-pull-
in' leaves an' blossoms out;
If your hopes is sort o' frosted, 'twon't
be long until they'll sprout.
You simply can't stay in, all grumpy,
when the warm sun nestles down;
That's the time o'year that farmers
feels fer folks cooped up in town.
So they put away their worries, a-fer-
gittin' what they lost.
Lookin' for'ard to a season of new
croppin' at less cost;
For there can't be none downhearted,
that can set around an' whine,
When the soil turns up all smelly, like
it does at plantin' time.
If you belch up a.bitter tasting
liquid, suffer from heartburn and sour
stomach, you need the tonic proper-
ties of Herbine. It is a purifying and
strengthening medicine for the stom-
ach, liver and bowels. Price 60c. Sold

Otherwise than suffering from bad
colds and such the 1922 snow storm
was appreciated by the farmers
around Lake Creek very much.
Yet to our regret it infringed upon
our school, causing a small blank spot
that we wish had not have been in this
term of school, besides that the Lake
Creek Basket Ball teams were plan-
ning a trip to the Southwestern Tour-
nament and the bad weather and other
things deprived the girls of getting to
ffo.
The boys nave gotten back report-
ing a very nice time and have witness-
ed some real scientific basket ball
playing.
Miss Luda Taylor was the Sunday
evening guest of Miss Lila Hollis.
Miss Tinnle Robins spent Sunday
night with Miss Selma Collins.
On account of snow Btorm and bad
roads last Saturday our regular pas-
tor did not meet with us but he de-
livered a very good sermon Sunday
evening; one that was practical or
true to life and nature. We urge that
more people attend these sermons and
get the benefit of them.
Miss Lila Hollis spent Sunday night
with Miss Lou Ema Pruatt.
Henry Nelson and wife spent Sun-
day evening with their parents, Wr.
and Mrs. R. E. Barfler.
The people of this community re-
gret very much the fact that Mr.
Grady a well known farmer of this
community was burned out last week
and showed their regret by making up
money to help him get a new start.
It seems by now that the bad cold
