We have just laid down one of the
large oily dailies. The column after
column of short want advertisement

man call fur something to do—some-
thing that will furnWh bread for hun-
gry mouths. Thoy say appealingly:
"Cilvo us something to do that we may
live." And who are these people?
They are, In the main, the unfortun-
ates, the misfits of society. A mum II

the employed and desire to improve
their condition. The student of social
conditions is dumfoundcd when con-
fronted witli the extreme large per-
centage of men with no llxed calling
who aimlessly drift with every tide,
having no anchor. In a measure,
changes in business conditions which
result from tho invention and intro-
duction of machinery to supersede
man's labor and the consolidation and
centralizing of business enterprises, is
responsible. Hut generally tho fault

The young person should decide what'

and remain with that occupation so
long as there is a ray of hope Don't
be unstable, seeking flrai. here then

In many localities the people need to
be aroused, and the result of work of
this kind will show marked improve-
ment, not only outwardly, but also in
the character. One energetic man or

an association of this kind, will find
his efforts well rewarded.
