J. P. Keester, one of Greer coun-
ty's most progressive farmers was in
town Monday. Mr. Keester lives 20
miles northwest of Mangum and
hauls cream to town ones* each week.
He 3tated that yast year he realized
$1G0 from milk and butter, and about
the same amount from cuickens. This
year he is raising chickens on a lar-
ger scale, having about one thousand
chickens now. Mr. Keester 3ays that
ne doe3 not raise much cotton, and
found chickens and cattle much more
profitable.

BAPTIST ASSOCIATION TO MEET
AT GRANITE
At a meting of the executive board
of the Greer County Baptist Associa-
tion held here last Tuesday, it was
voted that the association would be
held at Granite commencing on the
2nd of September.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hamilton, of
Vinson, were Mangum visitors Fri-
day.

been in Mangum for medical treat-
ment for the pa3t ten days.
Chas. Tilley, who for the past three
or four years has been attending the
Baylor University returned Tuesday,
and will spend his vacation in Greet
county. . Next year Chas. will enter
upon the study of medicine, whicb
will require four years to complete.
He is a young man determined to get
an education even though he has to
[ make hi3 own way. His friends are
looking forward to the time when he
will be one of our leading profession-
al men.

very muc'n from tonsilitis the past
few day-3, but 3eems to be all right

meeting Friday night for the purpose
of making a Woodman of Tom P.

acted business in Sayre Friday.
G. H. Tubb and family visited the
E. O. Hill home Sunday. Mr. Hill
and family left Monday for the plains
of Texa3, where they will visit for a
short time.

gum Friday nig'nt on account of the
illness of his little child at that
place. He wa3 accompanied by his
3ister, Mrs. J. D. Culwell, and John
Culwell.
A. J. Falkner and wife went to
Brinkman Saturday night to secure
medical treatment for their baby.
Misses Mary and Kate Spencer of
Reed, visited the I. p. Hood home last
Sunday.
