ty's best citizens, was here the last
of the week from his Spring Creek
home.
Jno. T. Holley, from npar Hol-
lis, was in Mangum the last of the
11 week on a business mission.
R. L. Thompson, Jno. B. Over-
ton, J. W'. Massey, Esq., aud F. B.
Massey, all good citizens of Fran-
cis were in Mangum Friday, mar-
keting cotton and transacting
other business. In conversation
with a Star reporter Messrs.
Overton and Massey engaged in a
recital of their recent experience
in which it developed that both
were from Georgia, that Mr. Mas-
sey now has a fine patch of goo-
bers on his farm and that Mr.
Overton is veiy fond of the same.
Mr. Massey says he will back Mr.
Overton against any man or"ra/.or
back" in Greer county in a goober
eating contest and Mr. Overton
says he is willing to be backed.
