Woman Sufferigsts to Continue their
Efforts.
The battle royal on the question of
Womfan Sufferage was the hardesti
fought proposition presented to the
Constitutional Convention. It was
skillfully championed by its advocates,
and the effort to establish justice for
Oklahoma women will be a historic
record to which Oklahoma will point
with pride in futtire years.
The scroll will be a roster of the
liberty loving men who strove to build
well this ship of State, and laid as He
predjudice and narrow partisanship in
a spirit of true patriotism.
The women of the territorries have
for their insplraUon:
"Truth may lose many battles but
wins its wars.".
The effort to secure woman suffrage
in the constitutional convention
| looked upen as a preliminary skirmish
t by the women who believe in the prin
ciples of true democracy and undis-
ma.i ed are preparing to make a stanl
that will assure success In the near
future. A change of seven rotes wouH
have given the desired majority, an J
the crystallization of public sentiment
will be manifest in the next move of
the Indefatigable women who demand
the ballot for the defence of their
cherished homes, and by women la
industrial positions.
The movement for eoBua suffrage
Is General la the Uaited States. That
Its adoption to bat the matter of a
abort time Is conceded.
