TO ORGANIZE NEST OF OWLS
A. T. Thompson, organizer, and
Messrs. A. E. and F. F. Evans,
deputies, are in the city making
preparations to organize a society
known as the "NeBt of Owls.'- They
report quite a good deal of interest
being taken in the new order.
Following are some of the rules
and mottos of this popular order:
If you save your money you* re
grouch;
If you spend it you're a loafer,
If you get it you're a grafter,
If you don't get it you're a bum,

FARMERS' INSTITUTE
IN SESSION
The Greer Countys Farmers' insiti-
iute is in session today with W1. O.
Byars, chairman and J. F. Ewalt,
secretary.
Dan Diehl of Gotobo, Okla., mem-
ber of the state board of agriculture,
is present at the meeting and will
submit to them the proposition of
locating a demonstration farm.
The last legislature appropriated
120,000 for the purpose of establish-
ing these farms throughout the aiaie.
The plan is to have the institute rec-
omend some farmer located near the
county seat, and if the recommenda-
tions are favorable the appointment
is made by the state board.
Mr. Diehl informs us that he has
established these farms at several
cities near here and that he expects
to select one here today.

Judge G. A Brown of the Eigh-
teenth judicial district will have the
distinction of sitting as judge this
week In the case of Alf Hun&r, the
desperate negro, who is charged with
the murder of Sheriff Garrison of Ok-
lahoma county.
The trial will be held at Watonga,
county seat of Blaine county, where
this dastardly murder was commit-
ted.
This is Judge Tolbert's district but
on account of Judge Brown being dis-
qualified in a number of cases at
Sayre, he and Judge Brown exchagcd
places, consequently It falls to Judge
Browns lot to try this at present
much talked of case.
It is thought that a speedy trial
will be the result, as It is reported
there is sufficient evidence to prove
that the negro in custody is the
much sought after and cowardly
murderer of Oklahoma county's popu-
lar sheriff.
That this brutal slayer, if he be
the guilty one, pays the penalty of
his heinous crime, is the wish of
every law abiding citizen of Okla-
homa.

AND ELLA GALVIN
"A BELL BOY."
A special engagement is announced
of Johnny and Ella Gatvin in the
new musical comedy, "A Bell Boy,"
at the Mangum Opera House, Oct.
19 to 23.
This is not a euqceseful New-
York musical comedy with an infer-
ior cast, but it is one of the great-
est hits of the past two seasons with
the original stars and cast. Johnny
Calvin is one of} the first of the
newer type of comedians abandoning
the low comedy methods and .the slap
stick of the old time comedians. He
succeeds by his own cleverness, ia
making his audience wear the smile
that wont Wear off. .
Seat sale for the engagement are
open today at P. O. Book Store.
