London.—The German emperor left
the Verden front and returned to Ger-
many, according to a Rotterdam dis-
patch to the Daily Mail.
The Germans have resumed their
heavy offensive in the region of Ver-
dun, with the French everywhere
strongly opposing it. While over most
of the front, from the east of the
Meuse down In the Woevre region,
the German big guns have been active,
around Douaumont the Teutons have
launched several infntry attacks of ex-
treme violence. These, the French

mated the enemy rank".

east of Verdun.
Their big offensive, however, so far
ns infantry attacks are concerned,
has ceased at least for the moment;
whether it will begin again or whether
the Germans will rest content with the
points of vantage they have gained, is
not indicated in the official reports of
either Berlin or Paris.
Unofficial advices from Berlin have
stated that the German plan of cam-
paign was primarily based on the bom-
bardment ot sectors they desire to at-
tain and it Is possible they may now
be drawing up their big guns to cap-
tured positions with the object of
shelling points nearer their objective

DR. KILMER'S SWAMP-ROOT
A GREAT FAMILY MEDICINE
I wish to tell ibout my condition
feveral years ago I was afflicted with
kidney and bladder troubles. My con-
dition was such that I had to go in a
stooped position and my back caused
me much pain. I was unable to work

with no results until I saw your adver-

After taking several bottles I was re-

the house all the time. I cheerfully re-
commend Dr. Kilmer's Swamp-Root to
