WILL ORGANIZE INTERSTATE
FAIR ASSOCIATION
It is reported that there Is a mov
on foot in Altus to organize an Inter
state Fair Association with a capitali-
zation of $50,000.00. A Democrat re-
porter was informed today that such
a movement was on foot and that a
number of wealthy residents' of this
city and several in Texas had agreed
to take a block of the stock. The
amount mentioned as already availa-
ble is approximately $20,000.00, four
men having expressed their willing-
ness to invest this amount in the en-
terprise.
It is argued that Altus is the logic-
al location for just such an enter-'
prise, it being 150 miles from Okla-
homa City and more than 200 miles
from any other city, either In Texas
• or Oklahoma. The capital to finance
the project will be secured in South-
west Oklahoma and North Texas, par-
ticularly Hardeman and Wilbarger
Counties. Those who have been in
conference over the proposition re-
quest that their names be withheld
from the public at this time but as-
sured The Democrat that within .a
few months at most the matter would
be given to the press in detail.
It is said that this was known to
certain persons at the time an effort
was made a few weeks ago to organ-
ize a local fair association, and for
this reason little attention was paid
to the local proposition.
It is asserted by those who are en-
gineering the plan that Altus is des-
tined to become the railroad center
Smart Suits for Fall
Exquisitively tailored, yet inexpensive
It would pay you to make a special trip down-town tomorrow
to see our display of suits by Biscfeof. All the very latest materials
and colors are among them—typical Bischof "man-tailored" models/
faultlessly finished, handsomely lined throughout.
They are made up in serges, diagonal twills, whipcords and novelties.
You will find it difficult to choose from this selection. Each
suit is more attractive than the other one; no two are alike.
Don't wait until the end of the season to select a becoming
suit. Come now, while the stock is complete.
All sizes; many different styles to choose from.
