This seems to be a dangerous
season for bad eye accidents.
Three children, ranging in age
from two to thirteen years, were
brought to Dr. Rutland with ser-
iously wounded eyes. One, a
boy, shot in the eye with an air
gun. Another, a little girl,
I struck in the eye with a rock
thrown by a boy, and the little
I boy who fell upon a nail, tearing
'open the eyeball. So far these
I are all doing very well consider-
I ing the gravity of the accidents.

tus.
J. L. Nailon has moved to Man-

Joe W. Taylor has moved from

O. B. Kidd was selling cotton
in Altus Monday.
The Pickettville gin closed
Saturday, having ginned 1536
bales for the season.
0. B. Jones' is the new village
blacksmith at Pickettville.
Remember the pie and box sup-
per at Clabberflat school house
Friday night.
The citizens of Lone Oak are
building a new phone line to
Altus.
Geo. S. Dawson has the lum-
ber on the ground for a new
residence.

A. J. Wood has a new resi-
dence in south Pickettvill com-

A literary society has been
organized at Lone Oak. Ben S.
Smith is president; Jno. Dodson,
vice-president; Miss Reba Hol-
dridge, Sec. Treas. A program
will be rendered every two weeks
commencing next Friday night.
The Justice Club met in Pick-
ettville Saturday night. W. H.
Elms was fined eleven dollars
and eighty cents for moving
from Headrick route 1 to route 6
without permission. Mr. Elms
cheerfully paid the fine saying
that he was willing to do any-
thing in order to get on the Great
Alfalfa Route. Gattling gun
Sam Austin, the new constable
of Baucum township filed his
bond asking that said bond be
approved by the Justice Club so
as he would have authority to
shoot to kill any one who should
violate the statutes of Okla.
Some objection was offered
against approving this Bond.
However, when it was shown
that applicant was a job wagon
juggler, and a double shovel
shuffler objection was withdrawn
and the bond approved. Bond
of Butcher Knife Bud Turner,
the new Altus constable was ap-
proved without opposition. Six
Shooter Sam Bidweli's commis-
sion was extended to another
year, but when William A. Riley,
an appointed Justice of the peace
for Baucum township asked the
Justice Club io approve his bond

Mr. Siveley of Hollis who was
operated on at the Garrett Sani-
tarium Saturday for delayed ap-
pendiceal abscess, and for whom
at the time of the operation there
was little hopes of recovery, has
rallied and is rapidly improving.
