Last Friday morning. Mr. ar.dj,,mJ. n u iii"aimx«
Mrs. J. W. BacK invited ua to to kki.i. kkai. I'-
take a seat in their flnt auto and
drive with them to Headrick.
They were taking Mr. Otis
Wade. State Inspector of nurse
ries down to visit the
Township Tair and Chautauqua
We accepted the invitation,
and the pleasure of a tine drive
over a part of the Scenic Route
of the Ozark Trail The road is
tine ar.d J . W. let his auto
out in fine speed, and we
were soon among the people of
Headrick, who were busy put-
ting on the fihishing touches of
their displays at the fair
They had many fine samples
of all kinds of agricultural prod-
ucts. The samples of cotton
were well fruited: in fact it was
better fruited than usual, and
will yield well at picking. They
had fine exhibits of milo maize,
kafir, feterita, sorghums, millet
and all other field productsr
There was a nice display of wo-
man's handiwork. We saw fine
loaves of bread, great, big. fat
fine biscuits, pies, cakes and all
kinds of canned and preserved
fruits, which evidenced the fact
that there are some good ^ooks
and housekeepers in that part
of the country.
We regret tliat we could not
stay longer with them But
what we saw reflected credit
upon the people of Headrick and
surrounding country.
