The advance in print pa-
per is awful —from 40 to 00;
percent within the last 30
days. The paper manufac-j
turers claim that it is the re-;
suit of the European war. 1
don't believe a word o (<• it
myself. 1 am firmly convinc-
ed that it is the result of pure
down right robbery on the
part of the manufacturers.
Don't tell me that a country
as large as all ICurope and
with a population of over
1(M),0()0,000 is totally depend-
ent upon Europe for mater-
ial out of which to manufac-
ture almost anything this
country needs, dyestuffs and
all. Manufacturers claim it
is the scarcity of rags and
dyestuffs that is making pa-
per so high. If this is the
case the Europeans must be
the raggedest people on the
globe, and God only knows
what will become of them af-
ter this war is over.— Marlin,
Tex. Review.

A correspondent writes to know
where all the flies come from.
That is easy. The toper makes
the bottle fly, the old gossip
makes the fly, the cyclone
makes the house fly. Buel Rod-
gers makes the horse fly, Col. J
N Ililey, the grocer, makes the
sand fly, the hotel boarders make
the butter fly, the farmer makes
the cow fly and we heard of a
young lady in her mother's hen
house making the mites fly.—Sen-
tinel Leader.
And one moving picture com-
pany advertises that "Mutual
movies make the time fly "
Some farmers never think of
advertising what they have for
sale. If it pays the merchants of
a town to advertise what they
have to sell it will pay the farm-
er to do the same. People may
know you ever so well but they
can't know, until you tell them,
that you have a horse, cow, hog
or anything else to sell, and the
best way to tell them is through (
the local paper which goes into all
your neighbors' homes just a* it
does into yours. T *y an a<i in
the Times the next time you have
something to sell. It will pay
you.

until the golden g.ain will be

County farm demonstrator,

siderable improvement in his

One improvement is a bul-
