Fleas by the 1,000,000,000.
A gentleman dropped an
article or much value through
one of the wide and yawning
cracks which are so numerous
on our side walks, and offered
a boy 25cta to crawl under the
sidewalk and recover the arti-
cle for him. The boy did so,
but as the boy backed his way
out he was blowing, fighting
and kicking, manfully. By-
standers noticed little black
objects jumping from the
boy's person in countless num-
bers. "Why, sir," said C. W
Bush, "I'll bet there was no
less than a billion fleas on
that boy. Against the hog?
Yes sir, just put me down in
favor of the hog law from now
on."
The above state of affairs
not only exists in the business
portion of town but the flea is
just about as numerous in the
resident district. It is safe to
gay that there is not a citizen
of Crowder who can lay down
and enjoy a good nights rest
and be free the next morning
from Hlea punctures. If you
happen to hear some one say
that the fleas never bother him
make an investigation and
see if it isn't some one who's
hide is oozing out nicotine
Even a flea has some sense.

Keep Your Money
Circulating.
When you keep your money in
your pocket, or hide it around
your home, you are doing just
that much to retard the industrial
growth of our community—this is
a detriment to you as well as
others.
When you keep your money in
tho bank it is safe, yet where it
can be loaned to those who will
use it for increasing and upbuild-
ing of the business of the commu-
nity—this means an increased
property value in both town and
country. If you want to be one
of those who help build up and
improve our town and surround-
ing country come in and start an
account with us. The amount of
your deposit is not so material
as the fact of making a start in
the right direction.
