Studebaker Vehiclea^are the type of per*
feet ion in material, workmanship and style
and when you can buy them at prices asked
for inferior goods, it is money in your
pocket to do so. They have stood the test
of time. When you tell a man your vehicle
is a Studebaker, he knows it is as good as
can be bought. We have just unloaded a
car of Studebaker buggies, surries and
wagons, and they are right up to now in
style and finish. It will pay you to ex-
amine them before buying.

Republican Coanty Platform
We, jrour committee on resolu-
tions. Ltg l'-ave to submit the fol-
lowing leport:
We |>l -dge and renew our alk'gi-
ance to the principles of the repub-
lican party, as borne out by its
glorious career for fifty years, and
a* expressed in the national plat-
form of 1908. We indorse the ad-
ministration of our able and honest
President, William H. Taft, and
pledge to him our support in the
difficult position he is called upon
to fill.
We desire to express our admir-
ation of and confidence in Theodore
Roosevelt, whose example to the
people of this country is an inspir-
ation to all, and a source of
strength to the party of his lifelong
adherence.
We desire to call the attention of
the voters to the fact that Lee
Cruce, democratic candidate for
governor of Oklahoma, has given
no indication that he has heard the
request of Joseph Me.Neal, repuoli-
can candidate for governor, that
tliey unite in an effort to secure
an honest election and fair count.
The pertinence of Mr. McNeal's re-
quest is shown in the recent dis-
graceful corruption in .the recent
democratic primary election in Ok-
lahoma City. We submit that if
democrats will steal from demo-
crats republicans must look out for
them, and we heartily indorse the
position of Mr. McNeal, and call
upon all good citizens, of whatever
party, to give their support to the
cause of honest elections.
We denounce the unconstitution-
al "grandfather clause," which, by
a manipulated and unfair vote was
carried at tin.' recent primary elec-
tion, and urge republicans, individ-
ually and collectively, to see that
all negroes who can read and write
are given the right to vote at com-
ing elections.
We pledge our hearty support to
the candidacy of B. S. McGuire for
reelection to congress. His service
to the people of Oklahoma and of
his district is proof that in the fu-
ture it would be much greater in
worth. Not only the upholding of
the principles of the republican
party, but the needs of the people
d the district, demand his reelec-
tion. and to this end the republi-
cans of Payne county pledge their
united! effort.
Our candidates to the legislature
hereby pledge themselves to use
their honest efforts to eliminate
politics from our state educational
institutions, and to the home insti-
tution every effort will be made in
t.ht legislative councils to care for
its needs.
We place before the voters of
Payne county this year what we
believe to be the strongest and best
ticket ever placed before them,
every man on which is capable,
worthy of support, and will be a
credit to himself, to the community
he hails from, to the whole county,
and therefore to his party. We be-
speak for these men not only tin;
votes of all republicans, but those
of all who yearn for a capable and
economical administration of coun-
ty affairs. The administration of
the last two years has been of such
a character as to further burden
the people with taxation whicn
they cannot afford, anu its conduct
has been so notorious as to enlist
against it the voice and the influ-
ence of men formerly high in the
local councils of the democratic
party. We need put forth no fur-
ther criticism than theirs, which
eloquently speaks for itself. As the
only indicated remedy for a serious
and disgraceful condition, we solic-
it the united support of all who
desire an honest, capable and
economical administration for the
entire republican ticket.
The republican party of Payne
county, as has been its record in
the past, hereby pledges the honest
enforcement of all laws on the
statute books.

Committee.
The following amendments to the
report were adopted by the con-
vention:
In behalf of the delegations irom
Henry, Cherokee and Eagle town-
ships we beg leave to offer, by
amendment to the resolutions, the
following: That the county com-
missioners let the county printing
to the lowest responsible bidder.
We favor a repeal of the present
fee and salary bill as enacted by
Lh'i democratic party, and pledge
our every effort to reduce the
present salary rates and fees, which
wt believe to be excessively high
in almost every instance, and which
we know in the main to be respon-
sible for the heavy burdens of tax-
ation on the people.
We denounce the primary law
r ow in force as unjust, unfair and
an unnecessary expense, and de-
mand of the next legislature the
repeal of this law, and the return
turn to the convention system.
That which should appeal
to you most—

among you our highest aim has been to gain and keep
your confidence by our RELIABILITY, making our

satisfied.
