has been quite ill with pneumonia
but is some better at present.

The Adams Singing Class has
reorganized and is doing fine

Miss Mertie Caves, assistant.
Bro. Dawson filled his rcgu'ar
appointment last Sunday at the
Adams Baptist Church and had
good success with his preaching,

Abernethy, lone Bowman, Effle
Tucker were visitors at Mrs.
Tate's home Sunday night. Miss
Willie entertained them with nice
music.

Mr. C. P. Ramsey and wife
were the guests of Mr. and Mrs.

The executive Committee ;*f the
Pittsburg county Farmers' Insti-
tute held a meeting in McAlester
last week. President George
Moi.crief of Canadian presided
and {Secretary J. E. Whitehead
of Msrtshorn was present.
The committee called into con-
sultation with them the members
of ihe city council and Secretary
Coon of ihe Commercial club.
They are desirous of securing a
permanent location tor the Pitts-
burg County fair and in building
up this organization to the point
of having excellent annual fairs.
The mayor and commissioners
expressed themselves as being
anxious of co-operating with
them as will the Commercial club
The city is seeking to condemn
f >r park purposes a large tract of
land ab.iut Hans Souci park and
it is proposed to lay off cn this a
suitable site for the fair ground.
Itinerary of Speakers.
While the committee was in ses
sion it also fixed the itinerary for
the lecturers from the agricultu-
ral college who will be in this
county March 13 and 14, as fol-
lows: March 13, Pittsburg, 10 o'-
clock a. m.; Savanna, 2 o'clock
p.m.; and at Frinks Switch at
night. March 14, Quinton in the
forenoon, Indianola in the after-
noon and at Canadian at 7:30 p.
m. Prominent speakers will de-
liver addresses at each of the
above places. Let everybody,
espec lielly the farmers attend.
