Brother Chance has been on the sick

sent in my renewal. I have been a
-eader of the Herald ever since War-
ren Zimmerman, now of the Liberal
News, was at the steering wheel.
Well, I know that I shall miss the
Herald for a while, for I am going to
leave Greenhead,Fla., in a few weeks,
and shall be dodging about, not espe-

Now in leaving Florida ' don't in-
tend to give it any parting kicks, for
it undoubtedly has the finest climate
of any atate in the Union, and I have
sure enjoyed myself while here Like
Mr. Latham when he catchee coyotes,
I have a thousand dollars worth of
fun every time I land an eight or ten
pound bass and I have landed several
of them. I also feel like I had drunk
of the Fount of Perpetual Youth that
Ponce de Leon looked for several hun
dred year* ago. He must have asissed
this part of Florida. They make lots
of it out of cane syrups snd heney.
They call it rum. It makes some old
people act very childish.
The great progress that the Pan
handle of Oklahoma has made recently
reminds me of a little jingle that the
Herald printed several years ago.
was aa follows:
The Panhandle of Oklahoma.
The Handle Is running away with the
Pan,
Now oatch her and hold her, If you
think you can.
'Twill be a bigger job. you'll learn
very soon.
Than Jumping the cow rl
moon.
The Handle has suffered the kicks and
the cuff.
Till now she declares she's hsd quite
enough.
