old, so we reprint the one given some
months ago as there is nothing any pret-
tier.
To begin with, the rooms were light-
ed with pink candles, which were placed
In a row on top of the piano, on the
mantels and on top of the book-cases.
The gas jets were turned down very low
and were shaded with pink crepe tissue
paper. Palms were banked in the front
window and the shades drawn. The
hour was four in the afternoon. On a
small tablo there was a silver bowl sur-
rounded by a wreath ot pink roses; thfs
was the "font." A qijiirtette of so-
prano, tenor, alto and bkss voices sang:
"Fill the Font with Roses," accom-
panied by piano and viiflin, and to this
beautiful music the baly was carrie i
downstairs by its grantfather followed
by the parents and nieniers of the fam-
ily; the Episcopal arvlce requires
sponsors. When the milister began the
ceremony the baby wasrlven to the fa-
lter. After the prayer 1 "lullaby" was
sung and the child was fllcen upstairs.
Light refreshments of wlite and brown
raisin bread sandwichesUvere served
from a pink rose decoratVl table in the
dining-room, eight youn\ ladies tak-
ing turns in pouring th\ chocolate.
There were plenty of sugaWi almonds
which are always used in fc-ance at a
christening party. \

Shirt-Waist Suit.
Mixed linen suitings are appropri-
ate for shirt waist suits. They ire a
combination of linen and . oiton,
woven like a thambray. with Wtle
flecks of white, the body of the tib-
ric being shown in various shades of
blue, green, pink, gray, brown and
lavendar. The material is 28 inches
wide, 15 cents a yard. Mercerized
checked cotton taffeta was fatnil;.ir
last year: it costs 25 cents a yat.l.
Being mercerized in the yarn it re-
tains its sheen, and Is woven like a
silk taffeta, and makes up very well.
This year, in addition to the two-color
checks, it is shown in three-color
checks, which are very pretty.
Grace nnd Symmetry.
Stop lunching, or, If you must lunch,
conflne your lunch to stewed fruit!
toast and tea. When you di. e, dine
wisely, but not too wel . Eat a ehop,
but take very little soup and use mod-
eration along with your punch and
sweets. For breaVfast take one cup
of coffee and some rather hard toast
and rolls. Follow these diet direc-
tions and you will return once more
to the grace and symmetry which you
had when yo«i joined the club.
