Notes From
The University
Of Oklahoma
Two University graduates of
the class of 1903 have already
distinguished themselves A. H.
Edwards is now Professor of
Economics and Sociology in
Bowdoin College, Brunswick,
Maine, the College of Longfellow
and Hawthorne; G. A. Bucklin,
Jr. is now Cousul *> Glauchau in
Germany.
The Summer School planned
at the University for next sum-
mer will be for the benefit of
teachers who work during regu-
lar school months and for such
students as desire to shorten
their college course by this extra
study.

The momentum of a man that
does things frequently compels
him to ruffle the feathers of some
dozing owl.
If you have an article to sell,
the more people that know about
it, the more likely you are to
find a buyer.
First Monday is already a
-rreat day in Madill, but a few
extra touches from the Com-
mercial Club will make it great-
er still.
There's lots of money to keep
the gambling speculator of Wall
street from sacrificing his stocks,
but none to prevent the producer
from sacrificing his crops.

Thanksgiving Dressing
It is quite necessary to dress the turkey for
Thanksgiving, but it is more necessary to
dress yourself for that gala time.

We predict that this money
flurry will pass off in a few days
and Madill and her people will be
doing business in the same old
way. The country is in too pros-
perous a condition for it to be
otherwise.
Tall millinery
I have now on display my tall Stock,
and you are cordially invited to call and
inspect the latest creations of the milli-
ner's art. Come and see, whether you
wish to buy or not.
The opportunities to waste lots
of good dollars of the taxepayers
in the counties of the new State
will be many. Let us admonish
jthe county officers to keep the
old German saying constantly in
mind: "Make haste slowly."
The health is one of the first
things that should have the at-
tention of the officers of a town.
The sanitary condition of Madill
should be looked after. Some of
the out buildings in the business
part of the town are in a bad con-
dition and should be seen to at
once.
Say, how about the street
shows and carnivals that have
been visiting Madill from early
fall until this good time and are
still coming. They are compos-
ed not of a second but of about
the fourth class of people. These
shows attract a lot of our boys to
them and drain their pockets of
their dimes and their character
of its virtue. We are in favor of
prohibiting these things by hieh
license or by city ordinance. Let
these demoralizing things find
places not in Madill.
