A Mistaken Idea
Some people have an Idea that in or<,lor to have a bank account they
must have a large s«i to deposit; that the bank does not care to be
bothered by small accounts.
This, however, is not true of the CITIZENS BANK. This bank wel-
comes new accounts, whether or SI or 91,000, and the same courtesy
and service is accorded the smull depositor as those in more fortunate
circumstances.
It is our object and wish to serve the public in financial matters in
a manner that will be satisfactory to all—old or young, rich or poor.
\YK \V \NT YOl'H HANKING lU'SlNKSS ANI> WILL UK PLEASED TO
HAVE YOU OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH I S.
Deposits in this Bank are protected by the Depositors Guarantee Fund of the State
HEALY.
Wheat cutting is about completed
in this part.
Spring crops are looking well.
Plows can be seen running in all
directions, preparing the soil tor an-
other wheat harvest.
.Mrs. H. M. Hauser has been con-
fined to her bed for about a month
with rheumatism, but is improving.
Rev. R. C. Aubrey will preach at
Healy Saturday night before the third
Sunday inst. and will continue a pro-
tracted meeting. Everybody re-
quested to attend. He will have an
experienced revivalist to assist him.
Quite a number of men from these
parts are harvesting in Kansas.
We were visited Monday by a big
rain.
l'OSTLE.
Harvesting is going on at full
speed out here at present. Next
week will finish most of it.
L. Bellis came home last Saturday
from Kansas, where he has been
working for some time.
Perrv Colton came out to his claim
last Friday. He has been working
In Hooker.
Quite a number of our folks took
hogs to Guymon last week and sold
them to Frank Scott.
Dan Lovelace and Dan Welsh took
in the dog and pony show In Guy-
mon last Wednesday.
The celebration of the 4th was a
success at Kuhn. Postle, Kuhn,
Keltner and Cosmos all joined to-
gether and celebrated at Kuhn.
Next week the Methodists will hold
quarterly conference at the Union
church at Postle. commencing on
Friday and Saturday.
Don't forget to come to Sunday
school every Sunday at the church at
10 o'clock.
William Richardson took three
loads of hogs to Guymon last
Wednesday and on Saturday after-
noon he took three more loads to
Hooker.
R. X. Dowd has bought the quar-
ter of land joining him on the north
from Mr. Loomls. Mr. Dowd surely
has confidence in the country.
Can any one tell us when we are
going to get another rain? The row
crops need a good rain now.
FERNWOOD
All those who failed to celebrate
at Alamo missed a big time. The
crowd was something most unex-
pected In size, and made us wonder
where the people all came from. The
program was sufficient to afford a
pleasing entertainment and the Pio-
neer Brass band is most certainly a
credit to the whole country side. We
are proud to know this part of Texas
county possesses a band of musicians
that is hard to beat, and their leader,
Mr. Starkey, is to be complimented
upon the good work he has accom-
plished as Instructor of thp Pioneer
Brass band, which consists of fifteen
pieces and entertained us so nicely
with several fine selections during
the day and evening. The ball game
waH won by the home team, defeating
Camp. The Camp boys play a pretty
good
to hear of the death of Mrs. J. B.
Collett of Poplar Bluff, Mo., later of
Heber, Ark., at which place she
passed away from a serious relapse
of typhoid fever. Mrs. Collett was
the mother of W. E. and John Q.
Adams, whose homes she visited fre-
quently and made many friends in
Fernw:ood by her pleasing and social
manner who will be grieved to hear
of her death. We extend to those
who are left to mourn her loss our
deepest sympathy.
A. J. Adams and family have
moved into their new home recently
built on their south line. Mr. Adams
has also had a well drilled and erect-
ed a windmill.
The families of J. F. Pontius and
Sam Eaton spent the day of the 4 th
down at the river fishing and enjoy-
ing the shade of the trees, and re-
port a fine time.
Walter and Harry Isham joined
partv of young people from Hooker
and celebrated the 3d and 4th at Lib
eral, where they had a royal good
time.
Miss Josie Whipple, now of Shel
ton, this county, spent the 4th with
friends at Fernwood and Allmo.
We would like to report a better
condition of crops in this locality
but as we are not the only ones w.io
were in the wake of the sun's long
continued hot blasts and wind the
past few weeks, we are sure you
know all about it. With favorable
conditions, however, the remainder
of the season, there will yet be
very large feed crop. Let us not be
discouraged, as we may not experi-
ence another like season in years.
Better be dry than flooded out any-
way.
