8AID IN GBATITUDE
The editor of the Foss Enter-
prise made a kick last week,
claiming that the Sunday morn-
iug mail was not distribdted until
afternoon. The postmaster says
"Its not so,!' but the daily papers
ure distributed as soon as they
arrive. Tha editor says "if that's
so we take it all back," leaving'
the public to conclude that tbe
editor does not gei anv daily pa-
yers and was kicltir g through his
li'at—Cordell Heralu- Sentinel.
Well, wr don't butt in very
much, even if we don't tal e a
iaily paper, and we occasionally
i,ear of some forcible occurrence
at Cordell .by some means or oth-
er, and then what daily papers
•oiae to Fo9s reach here the same
lay they are published—but why
-ay more?. The above article
probably had its inspiration in
the gratitude of.the editor for job
work that come from the afort-*
-tain postmaster.
The irrigation editor of the
Knterprise has-, been invited to
attend the Rocky picnic the 29th
•tnd drink a barrel of ice water.
We had rather drink a bottle of
spme Foss temperance dr,ink(and
'hat is the only kind sold hera)
than to. have to consume that
much ice water, even at a picnic.
Severa plain drunks in Foss
luring the last week was the rec
< rd of the town, but not of the
iw lice court. They were not the
make believe kind either, but the
genuine old standby, warranted
not to fade kind that makes the
fellow rich, strong, generous and
slobbery.
The daily papers have been pub
lifhing moat all the baseball hap
penings, so that the average cit-
uen is not concerning himself
very muqh over the telegraphers
.strike.
Hetiy Groon says that girls of
the present generation are too
extravagant, and spend too much
' jney for dress and display. No
<T.e ever accused Hetty of an>
>u :h foolishness.
