It ia with pride and pleasure
that the Chief remembers that it
was the firat paper in Hobart to
advocate and suggest both of
these great improvements and
benefita to the city, ie., the
erection of a water tower as the
people had directed at the polls,
and the purchase of thia fine

Mr. Levi Miller, one of the
oldest and btst business men of
Gotebo, was a pleasant caller at
the Chief office Thursday. He
thanked us heartily for the in

built the stand from which the
original lot drawing took place
in Gotebo.
He also gave a very instructive

Obituary.
Died, at the residence of her
father, John W. Tyler, two and
one half miles west of Hobart,
June 7, 1906, Miss Cora M.Tyler,
aged 23 years. The visit of the
grim messenger to this happy
home was swift and sudden.
Miss Cora had been ill for some
time but so serious an ending was
not anticipated. Her father was
in Texas on business and was
hurriedly summoned to the
death bed of his loved daughter.
The death of this popular young
lady was a sad shock to her
many friends, and the family
in their deep bereavement have
the heartfelt sympathy of a large
circle of friends. The funeral
services will take place at the
cemetary at 5 o'clock this even-
ing, June 8.

Not an Experiment.
Dr. C. Q. Ray has demonstrat-
ed to our citizens that it is pos-
sible to handle diseases without
the use of drugs. He has been
located in Hobart about six
months, during which time he
has handled some of the most
stubborn types of disease. He
can furnish ihe very best of ref-
erences among our own citizens
who have been cured by his
treatment. There is absolutely
no excuse for so much suffering
as many are compelled to endure.
If you have taken medicine
year after year for some chronio
disease without finding relief,
why not lay prejudice aside and
be examined for some mechani-
cal disturbance. Have a human
mechanic adjust your anatomy

and nature will reitore health, j 60c.
ITS YOUR KIDNEYS.
Don't Mistake the Cause of
Vour Troubles —A Hobart
Gltlzen Shows How to
Cure Them.
Many psople never suspect
their kidneys. If Buffrtring from
a lame, weak or aching back they
think it is only a muscular weak-
ness. When urinary trouble sets
in they think it will soon correct
itself. And so it is with all the
other symptoms of kidney dis-
orders. That is just where the
danger lies. You must cure these
troubles or they lead to diabetes
or Bright's disease. The best
remedy to use is Doan's Kidney
Pills. It cures all ills whioh are
caused by weak or diseased kid-
neys. Hobart people testify to
permanent cures.
J. G. Kraft, between 3d and 4th
on Washington street, Hobart,
O. T., says: "It is about fifteen
years ago since I first used
Doan's Kidney Pills and have
never been without them since
At that time I resided in Win-
field, Kansas, and those who
knew me intimately twenty-five
years ago also knew how I suf-
fered from kidney trouble. My
back used to get so badly that 1
