BOY BURNED TMEATH.
A PROCLAMATION.
A special corrspondent to the Whereas, Chinch bags caused
Times' sends in the sad account serious damage in 1912 in sever
of the burning to death of a son , *' of the most important wheat
of Mr* Jim Crum who lives about
five and one half (6J) miles South
east of Putnam on the night of
the 12th. It seems that the son
alept in the barn which in some
growing counties of Oklahoma,
and whereas hosts of these and
other destructive bugs and in
sets are safely passing the winter
under the dead grass and trash of
unaccountable way caught fire the fields, and unless we have
early in the morning and burned
to the ground The boy was un-
doubtedly smothered in the
smoke and gasaea from the burn
ing hay, of which there was a
large amount in the barn at the
time, and was unable to escape.
Four head of mules which were
unusual conditions a horde of
these pests develop which will
destroy half of tta6 wheat, oats,

The North Road.
The Present Board of County
Commissioners have expended a
considerable amount of money
-on the road leading into Taloga
from the north and at the pres-
ent time the prospect are that
we will soon havea good road(
something that has long been
needed ). The Commissioners
have removed some of the bridg
es which were on the road and
replaced them with concrete
a-cheg which will permit of the
hills be'ng graded down and the
dirt placed in the canyons and
each years work will make the
road better Commissioner Link
of the second district deserves
great praise for the masterful way
in which he has handled the mon
e.v appropriated to his district for
road purpose.* In all there has
been about 0l 100 00 expended on
this one road leading to Taloga,
for which Taloga Citizens are
justly thankful.
