Be it ordained by the president and
board «f trustees ot the town of
Cushing, O. T.
Sec. 1. U shall be unlawful for any

inpioyee, within the corporate limits
the town of Cushing, to carry on,
open or concealed, or to conduct,
whether for hire or net, any game of
aroe, 111 ante, poker, roulette, crap*, or
kuy banking or Dor^eutago game, play,
sd with dice, cards or any device
whatever, i'o" money, checks, credit,
or any repreeentative value, or to
keep, own, or maintain auy table, U -
v Ice or machluc whatever, used or iu
tended to bo used, iu the playing of
uy game of cards, faroe, roulette,
poker, craps, or auy other game of
ihance upon which money is usually
wagered.
Sjco. 2. Any person violating any
of the provisions of this ordinance
halt be fined in the sum of ten dol-
lars

—The notorious Van Martin and
lawyer Williams, are under arrest at
Stillwater for alleged stealing of the
ballot-box, whioh cont&iaod the
names of the jurors. It is also
claimed that they put different
names into the box.
•Some young candidates for the
penitentiary recently induced un
suspecting juveniles to take imita<
tion Confederate money in exchahge
for valuable articles. The said mid-
chief causing shin^plasters come in
small" and large denomination?,
wrapped around a new ?ortof candy.
Persons passing such secalled mon
ey are liable to be arrested for fraud
ulent transactions, or for trying to
get valuable articles under false pre-
tenses.

Sec. 1, Any person or persons
within the corporate limits of the town
of Cushing, whtf shall make any
eud or unusual noise calculated to
disturb the peace and quiet of any
person or porsons, family, religious
congregation or any other congrega
tion of tho people lawfully assembled,
or who shall discharge fire arms in
ih3 streets, alleys, lots or grounds, or
jtbout or in the vicinity of auy build-
ing*, or who shall be guilty of auy
assault, or assault aud battery, or us-
ug language calculated to provoke a
breach of the peace, sU&U be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
! conviction thereof shall bo fined not
less than otte nor more than ten dol-
lars and costs for each each offcase.
Sec 2, Any person or persoas nho
shall resist or interfere with the town
marshal or any officer, nightwatch-
man or police of said town, while bo
may b attempting to make an arre
or serve any warrant or process of
said town, or shall assist any person
n resisting Etich arrest, or auy persou
under arrest or about to be arrested,
iu escaping or attempting to escape,
or who shall adviee any such person to
resist arrest of escape, shall be decm-
jed guilty of a misdemeanor iud upon
conviction tiiereor shall be fined ten
dollars and costs.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall be iu
force and effect from and after its pa
sage and publication as required by
law-
