and help, as the future citizen
ship of this community deptndi
largely on this election. So go
to work and help put it across.
What might have been a ser-
ious accident accured three miles
northwest of town last Tuesday.
Dwuht Pyeait, wife, and sis-
ter and her two daughtora were
traveling in a Ford and in try-
ing to pull a hill the engine stal-
led. Dwight got out and gave
the car a push down kill eo he
could get a new start. The car
got away from him and run down
to the bottom and upset in a hole
about 12 feet deep turning bot-
tom side up and fastening his
sister and her two daughters un-
dt rneath the car. While no one
was hurt the car was bioke up
some, but after a crowd got ii
out of the hole, they cianked it
up ai d off it weut just like a
Ford will.
LENORA ITEMS
Mr. Coffee, the cattle buyer is
in Lenora this week.
Our merchant are enjoying an
extra good holiday trade.
Santa Clause visited the child-
r* n and some of the old folks at
the church here.
Last Wednesday evening, a
1.ice program was rendered and
enjoyed by a large crowd.
Margeret Porter has about re-
covered from the attack on pneu
monia that she had recently.
Walter Roberts and family,'
from Wichita Falls Texas, are
here visiting relatives at present.
The boys and some of the old-
er men are trapping along the
creeks here this winter, some re-
port that good catches are being
made.
Let's see if we can't get the
township board, to do something
towards fixing: the road north of
town. It needs it, and would be
a great benefit to the school as
w ell as the town.
Mrs. Porter has resigned as
piircip'e of the high school at
this place on the account of tha
recent sickness of their daugh-
ter. Mrs. Porter was well liked
and everybody hated to see> ler
quit.
Jake Smith from Iowa is visit-
ing friends around here at pres-
ent. Jake is also looking after |
h's farm wast of town. He sa'd
when he left Iowa the snow had
been on the ground for a month
ani sleighing was still good. j
Frank Toler of Illinois is vist- i
ing his uncle H. F. Gilbert at Rpf.AUSE
present. Mr. Toler was with
the 18th U. S. Infantry and seen TT7> aim «-n nrint
