What Will Be
Done With It?
If there ia any money left from
the big republican rally held in
Hobart on the 4th of July, we
would auggeat that it be given to
Sam Combs and his fair ground
bunch or else turned over to the
campaign fund of the republican
party. The dirty thieves in that
party took the insurance money
owned by widows and orphans to
beat Bryan and eight years later
used the same kind of money to
elect Roosevelt. The money of
Hobart'a business democrata is
no more sacred than this insur-
ance money, and then if you
raiae your voice for justice, the
post office applicants, appointive
office holders and Commercial
League republican schemers all
yell "Knooker." We are pre-
paring some proofs about this
4th of July republican outrage.
Keep your eye on the Chief.
Fine Peaches.
We don't want to make the
editors over in Greer jealous,
but Mr. R. L. Grimes, of near
Warren, gave ua some fine
peaches laat week. They were
as good aa we grow in Kiowa
county, and clearly demonstrate
that the kingdom of Greer un
der democratic rule is a fine and
prosperous land. We are ea
pecially fond of all kinds of
fruits, and Mr. Grimes has our
thanks.

PUBLICATION NOTICE.
From Massachusetts.
Mr. B. F. Holoomb has been
in the city for several days look-
ing over the oil and gas fields,
and is greatly surprised at the
wonderful development of the
new state and is more than
pleased with Kiowa county. He
went to Chiokasha in company
with Dr. T. H. Williams, Mon-
day.
More Fine Peaches.
Mr.C.H.8mith is an Oklahoma
pioneer who knows a good coun-
try when he sees it. He came to
Kiowa from the Cheyenee coun-
try and has a fine farm one and
a half miles east of Hobart. The
peaches he brought to the Chief
office were from Mr. Smith's fine
orchard and were very fine ones.
We appreciated them very much.
There is no better or surer fruit
country anywhere than Kiowa
county.
Mountain View's
Fine Band.
The Oklahoma State Band of
Mountain View, was at Carnegie
on the Fourth of July, This band
is a fine one and is strictly a Kio-
wa county produot. Three hun-
dred tickets were sold from Mt.
View to Carnegie on the Fourth.
Back From Iowa.
The popular fruit tree man, H.
8. Bradley, has just returned
from the bedside • of his aged
mother, who is seriously ill at
at Andrew, Iowa. He reports
Oklahoma the banner state oi all
that he traversed while away.
Mrs. Bradley accompanied her
husband on the trip.
Oklahoma Triumphs.
Prof. Wm. Z. Smith, who is as
good a farmer as he is a school
teacher, and that is saying
great deal, brought to our office
last week some very fine pota-
toes. They were raised from the
"Tennessee Trumph" seed, but
Oklahoma soil and climate has
beaten the original. The Pro-
fessor oalls them "Oklahoma
Triumph" and it ia a good name.
Address Wanted.
Wanted to know the present
address of Mrs. B. J. Fitzgerald.
Did live near Guymon, Okla., in
1904. She has since been mar-
ried. Address Box 32, Hobart,

Nothing Doing in Politics.
The' advent of statehood has
not to any great extent stirred
the political broth. Things, how
ever, could be worse. The Chief
office was honored Thursday with
oalls from three candidates for
Congress in this district. Judges
Carpenter of Mangum, Cunning
ham of Lawton, and Weaver of
Pauls Valley. This was not so
bad for one day.
