along very nicely. The school ia
getting along fine, all puplis and
the people, to, seeming to take
great interest in the work.

were guests at the J. W. Abies
borne Sunday.
Boss Laakford and wife spent
a delightful day at the home of
B. W. Willbanks Sunday.
Mrs. Luke Coble and Mrs.
B. W. Willbanka spent Thursday
evening at the home of Mrs. J. W.
Abies.
Mi«s Joyce Cecil was a pleasant
visitor of Miss Pluma Campbell
Tuesday evening.
Guests of A. D. and Daisy Mae
Abies Sunday were Emma Eu-
banks, Hsttie May Young,
Gladys Rippetpe. Jewel Mae and
OnaLee Yowell, Fred Duvall
Willard Rippetoe and Glendal
Young. All report a most enjoy-

Orville Rippetoe spent Sunday
at the Briscoe home.

visitors of the J. F. McDowell
family Saturday night.
Vinson Trammell, wife and
son, Orther, left Saturday for
Hub City where they will remain
for a while for their son's health.
G. T. Warlicn and wife, who
have been vishing at the Rippe •
toe home for the last we k, re-
turned to their home ia Hufsmith
Texas, Monday.
The additional room that has
just been built to the Rippetoe
home improves it greatly. We
are always glad to note the im-
provements throughout the coun-
try.
Mrs. Jeff Slaton, who was op
eratedona few days ago, if
rapidly recovering.
BEARDEN, Nov. 27th-The
box supper at this plaee last Fri-
day night was a successful one
The boxes all brought good pric-
es. Miss Ruth Kelley of Hollis,
got the cake for the most beauti-
ful girl, Walter Cummina the bar
of soap for the homeliest man.
There was a large crowd present
and all seemed to have enjuyed
themselves greatly.
Daisy Mae Abies visited Emma
Eubanks Saturday night.
Gay Ion Warlick and wife, of
Huffimith, Texas, are visiting at
the Rippetoe home.
J. W. Abies and wife were
Sunday visitors of Harvey Fite
and family,
John Rippetoe ia havinig a side cculd do justice to the game.

STAR VALLY, Dec. 5th-The
weather continues dry and up
till Saturday has been unuaualy
«arm, but the aand storm
brought the first real winter
weather about noon Saturday,
Hog killing will be the order
of the day this week, everybody
will hare sausage, a pare ribs and
badkboneon the farm for awhile.
School is progressing nicely,
Mra. Doolittle was on the sick
list for a lew days this week and
Miss Ruth Mott took her plaee.
Misses Edith Shrewder and
Lizzie Messenger were visiting
in the Valley Friday and Satur-
day.
Joe Hendley left for Italy,
Texas, a few daya ago, after
spending several months here
with his aunt, Sirs. F. E. James.
Star Valley boys played Lone
Star's basket ball team Friday
afternoon. The wind was so
strong and sand so thick neither
Mrs. Caswell is at the Hollis
Hospital. She is doing nicely,
and we hope will soon be strong-
Sam Moore was here for a few
daya laat week viaiting his par-
ence. He returned to hia home
in Comanche, Okla., Thursday.
There will be a pie aupper at
Star Valley Friday night Dec.
9th. Everybody come and
bring a pocket full of money and
the girla bring a pie. The pro-
• coeds of the supper are to be used
* for the improvement of the
grounds and achool building.
Miss Nora Garlin spent the
week-end with her parents.
Mrs. Slay ton is spending a few
days with her sister, Mra. Dick
Williams. Mra. Slayton was op
erated on for appendicitis at
the Hollis Hospital two weeks
a/o. - We hope to report her
entirley recovered at our next
writing.
Charley Burns returned to his
home at Iowa Park, Texas, last
Sunday after spending a week at
the bedside of his wife who was
operated on at the Hollis Hospi-
tal, Mrs. Burns is doing nicely
and intends to come to the home
of her parents, Mr. and . Mrs.
W. I. Clark, tomorrow, where
she will visit until she is able to
make the trip home.
Christmas will soon be here,
but we are afraid Santa Claus
will get so much dustin his eyes
ihis dry weather he will never
find the way to the Valley, al-
though we hear some talk of a
Christmas tree.
