at Mexico and Kenton, are closed till

W. J. Eaton, ol Clayton, former
editor of Hit Democrat, once published
in that live town, was in the valley the
fore part of the week. He was looking
after some business over the line in
New Mexico and intended to go to the
mining camp before returning but got
delayed by his team leaving him, so lie
returned to Clayton Tuesdaj by the
mail stage.
Dr. Slack, of Clayton was in Kenton
Monday on his way to ihe Carriso
mining i amp, to plat a town site. The
land, 80 acres, was scripped last week
The company which he represents is
composed of live or six men, most of
them from Pueblo and Denver. The
town company has several mining
claims staked. The townsite lies at the
mouth of Bear canon, about 15 miles
locations 10 or 12 miles up the "river, j north of Kenton.
