askes us to express through these
columns her thanks for the many
tokens of friendship, among
those were a beautiful bopuet

still quite sick, the flower are
appreciated. What a world this
would be if all gave and received
(lowers while we live instead of
waiting to pile them on our
coffins.
Farmers have been quite busy
of late sowing wheat, and on a
number of farms wheat is corning
up nicely. The splendid season
for planting and the present
high price of wheat will doubt-
less encourage the planting of
more than average an acreage.
Our merchants were a busy
bunch last Saturday, trade was
brisk. The farmers seem to
have pi enty cash and those who
were obliged to get credit in the
summer are settling their ac-
counts early without waiting tor
the usual love letter from
"pleaseremit".
| Don't forget the Tribune will
give you 1000 votes in the pony
contest for each year's subscrip-
tion. whether new or renewal.
Get busy if you want that Shet-
land po ny and buggy
thdm in working off a lot oi
worthless junk. They want us
to advertise their junk and take
for our pay the cussinga from in-
diginant suckers who we might
influence to bite. Now if we
were able to do free advertising
we would advertise stm J of our
local merchants who we know
would give our readers a square
deal.
No we wan't cooperate, so
save your postage and our un-
usual even temper.
The splendid weather the past
week enables the farmers to
pick cotton and as a result the
fleecy staple rolled in at a lively
