returned to their home at Lawton
last Thursday after a week's stay

stay with her sister, Mrs. W. R.
Hooks. Earl Hooks took her to

K.O.K.'s Elect New
Officers
The K. O. K. Klub met with
Miss Rena Bearden Tuesday
for a business session. New of-
ficers were elected, as follows:

President, Trilby Keeton; Secre-

Honored
Last Thursday was the eighth
birthday of Ben Moore, Junior,
and to commemorate the event a
number of his friends were invi-
ted to the Moore home for a
luncheon. Covers were laid for
eight, and each found their place
by drawing the half of a Mother
Goose rhyme from a basket, the
other half of which was on the
tab'e Mrs. Moore served four
courses to the following: Lura
Mims. Vance Pearson, Maulice
Hollis, James Charlton, Charlotte
Berry, Ola May Nance, Nick and
Ben Moore, Jr.
1921 Sorosis With
Mrs. Richerson
The 1921 Sorosis met with Mrs
Paul Richerson Wednesday after-
noon. Roll call was responded
to with the name of some emi-
nent educator, with comments
o i his or her work. Mrs. S. A.
King was leader, and a moat in-
teresting and instructive pro-
gram was carried out. Mrs. L.
A. Pearson gave a fine paper on
"'Know How Our Children Are
Educated." A discussion on
"Education in Hollis" was lead
by Misa Verle Jones. Late in
the afcornoon Mrs. Richerson
served a two-course luncheon.

Fin<* Arts Club Has
Re-organized
A re-organization of the Fine
Arts rlub took place Tuesday
evening when the members were
guests of Miss Minnie May King
at the Kinpr home in the north-
wesv part of t'/.vn. The first
socially, Wridge a' d other games
being played. Following this it
was unanimously voted to disband
and re-i rwanize. Election of of-
ficers followed, resulting as fol-
lows: President, Mrs. Ben Moore;
Vice-President, Mrs. A.J. Bob on
Secretary, Miss Minter Watts;
Treasurer, Miss Gladys Motley;
Pianist, Mhs Verle Jones; Club
Reporter, Miss Myrtle Cansler;
Parlimentarian, Miss Minnie May
King. A program committee was
appointed, consisting of the fol-
lowing: Misses Myrtle Cansler,
Verle Jones and Samineta King.
For refreshments the hostess
served fruit salrd, bread and but-
ter sandwiches, brown bread and
coffee. The next meeting will
be with Mrs. A.J Bolton Tuesday
evening, February 9th.
State Organizer Visits
Local P.E.O. Chapter
Mrs. H. W. Johnson, of Tulsa,
state inspector and organizer of
the P.E O. state federation, vis-
ited the local chapter Wednesday
of last week. Members of the
club met at 'the home of Mrs. G.
W. White in the afternoon, the
session being devoted entirely to
business. Mrs. Sam Hall, of
Mangum, was initiated Mrs.
Johnson stated that she found
everything about the Hollis chap-
ter in excellent condition, and
complimented the members for
the work they are doing. Late
in the afternoon Mrs. White ser-
ved a salad course to the follow-
ing. Mesdames Hopkins, Pen-
nington, Watts, Edwards, fc.A.
Berry, Hicks. Keys, Ben Moore,
Goodloe, Johnson and Hall.
Sorosis Will sponsoi Basket
supper the 30th
The 1921 Sorosis club has in-
vited members of all the other
clubs in the town to join with
them in an old-fashioned,
"basket supper" at the high
school auditorium Monday even-
ing, January 30th, commencing
at 7:30. Each lady is asked to
bring a basket filled with enough
"good things to eat" for two
and to. have the basket so
camaflaged that the gentlemen
will not be able to tell which is
which when they are auctioned
off. In addition to selling the
baskets to the highest bidder
there will be an angel food cake
for the most popular lady pres-
ent, and a devil's food cake for
the homliest man. Fifty per
cent of the proceeds will be used
The Orchestra will furnish
music throughout the evening.

FEATHER CAKE
By Mrs. Paul Nance
Four tablespoons butter, 1 cup-
ful sugar, 1 and 1-2 cupfuls flour,
21-2 teaspoons baking powder,
2 eggs, 1-2 cup milk, 1 teaspoon-
ful vanilla. Put butter in mix-
ing bowl, work it with A a spoon
until creamy, add sug^tr grad-
ually and continue creaming.
Sift flour and baking powder to-
gether, separate yo'ks of eggs
from wh'tes, beat yolks until light
colored, add milk and egg mix-
ture to creamed butter and sugar
alternately with flour. Add flav-
oring, stir and beat well. Beat
the whites of the eggs until stiff
and fold into the batter. Pour
in a shallow pan lined with but-
tered paper. Bake about thirty
minutes. Cover with a cream o
chocolate icing.
