Sabbath desecration there would be
no such class as anarchists in this
country." It is a question worthy
of serious thought whether the whis-
key traffic is more damaging to the
morals of our land than Sabbath
desecration. Reader are you guilty
of this sin ?
Our readers will be glad to learn
that in next week's paper the Rev.
J. W. Cunningham, D. D., of St.
Louis, Mo., will commence a ser-
ies of articles on Methodism among
the southern Indians. They will be
intensely interesting no doubt. These
articles of Or«. Hunter ami C«n-
ningham are timely. They are put-
ting on record somc very important
facts of history not given in any of
our books. We hope they will not
hurry to a conclusion of them.
Wk Thank the Rev. J C, Berry-
man for the interesting article pub-
lished, in another column. Father
Berryman knows many important
facts of history, that are unwritten
and he ought to give them to the
church before he dies.

Fraternally,
Soon after entering upon his du-
ties as Indian Agent Col. Owen is-
sued some very holsome orders re-
specting the duties of Indian police.
One of them required the spilling of
all intoxicating liquors found in the}
Indian Territory. The police were
further instructed to report to the
Grand Jury at Fort Smith the names
orpnrctes tir wtitf# pOSSOSslor. ,
toixcants were found except said
parties reported the names of the
individual from whom they obtained^
said intoxicants. We have had

more or less drinking in our town
for the last two days, and from the
number of "bitters" bottles* to b
seen 011 the railroad right-of-way
one would naturally inter that thes
bottles once contained intoxicatin
liquors; for if they were purchase
for medical uses alone -they woulc
hardly be found on the Commoni
after being emptied of their con-
tents. Now, if it is so that persons)
have not only been found intoxica-
ted but had in their possession in-L
toxieating liquors, we see no rea-
son why the introducer of said in
toxicants.can not be found if Agent
Owen's orders are carried out. If
these orders are strictly obeyed we
believe an end will be put to drunk-
enness in the Indian Territory.
