met with greatest success is
where the Union is the strongest
In many of the counties the
FarmerJ Union practically took
charge of the work of organiza-
tion and put it over for the A-
roclation notably in McClain
county where they have signed
up more than 1000 members
and in Garvin county where they
have nearly 1500 members
The Oklahoma Cotton Growers
began the final membership
drive on the 21st day of this
month which will last up to the
2nd day of April They now
feel that they have sufficient
cash in the treasury to be safe
In taking notes during this drive
So that those of you who have

dent when many interests in the
state and outside the state were
doing their utmost to destroy
our organization and the sec-
rifice that I made in time and
money were small compared
with the punishment I had to
take in standing up and fighting
for the life of the Union
With this in mind I believe
any member of the union will
readily see that I would not re-
commend to them another or-
ganizaton if I had the leac
thought that that organization
would injure the Farmers Union
For me after- all the sacrifice
that I have made to do anything
that would hurt the Farmers
Union would be like taking off
my own right arm
So I recommend to you mem-
bership in the Oklahoma Cotton
Growers’ Association firm in the
belief that it will be a benefit to
you and will in nowise injure our
organization In fact I believe
that the Oklahoma Cotton Grow
prs’ Association makes more ne-
cessary that every farmer should
be a member of the Famers Un-

in a cotton-raising community
please see that this letter is read

the Oklahoma Cotton Growers’
