Little Mabel's mother had loug been
dead and while her papa wus away from
home she had uo companions but her
governcsi and the servants. Her father
had often told her not to admit to the
house any person with whom she wan not
acquainted. One cold wintry day a poor,
ill dressed woman sloppod at the door
and asked permission to warm herself by ! jf^,
the kitchen fire.
"But,'1 said Mabel, "my papa don't
know you."
The woman whs shivering with cold
and the rain and sleet dropped from ber
thin wraps
A bright idea sooh entered the child's
head.
' Say," paid cbe, "do you know Jesus ?"
Tears started to the poor woman's > |
eyes, and h'h: began to tell how kind the
Savi jr had been to her.
' Well, said the child, "if you know
Jes igyou may come in, for papa knows
him and I'm sure he won't care."
Thus should the manifestation of a
knowledge of the redeemer's loyo for him
be the countersign by which we are to
know all true christians.

After years of suffering from neryous
derang-.ment and constipation, and after
being treated by seveirl leading physi-
cians, from whom I obtained no relief, I j
was induced to try S. 8. 8.
Soon aft-'r commencing its use, I found
my appetite much improyed, and that the
use of cathartics, which i had taken
almost daily for twelve months, was no
longer necessary.
Since childhood I have been subject to
sick and nervous headaches, but since
December 1, 1888, at which time I com-
menced taking S. S. 8. I have had only
one attack, and that was when I neglect-
ed to take the Specific.
I do not now have to take purgative
medicines.
