This is said to be the largest Baptist
Convention ever held in Oklahoma
There were 910 messengers aud visit-

dresses were above par During the
three days meeting there was not a
division of votes on any question
that came up The spirit and fellow-
ship was wonderful
Oklahoma Baptist paid this year

fund and plans to do much more for
the 1925 program
Our local church sent to the con-

on the Holy Spirit at the morning
service and at the evening on the
last verse of the fi chapter of Romans

Our American Schools
The American public schools
are built on sound democratic
principles The public school
since its beginning has been
the subject of sweeping un-
substantiated attacks But it
has thrived none the less
The American school is a
school for all the people In most
countires there are two school
systems One educates those
wjtp are to rule the other thoes
who are to be ruled In America
we have a differant plan" 'We
accept the ideal even - if it is
not realized every where in prac
tice that “What the best and
wisest parent wantsfor his own
child that mnst the- community
want for all its chllhren Any
other ideal for our schools is
narrow and unlovely acted upon
it destroys our democracy
The American school is free
and open to All Nearly 23000-
000 children were enrolled in
free public schools in 1922 At
least oue person in every five in
the United States is at present
attending a free public schools
