People's Party PirsM'.
The l'co]i{*''s Party picnic .and
beef roast which was held in Sam
Show's grow last Saturday was one
of the grandest picnics tliat liave
ever been hehl in this part of tfbe
country.
|'here were people from all pans
of Oklahoma there, and especially
from Guthrie. The estimation ol
the people there were about 2,01)0.
Tiie dav being very dry and warm
it was not as nice as it might have
been if it had only rained the night
before, but nevertheless everybody
had a i;<>o(l time. TSie three beeves
was iis^t enough 1m supply the
immense crowd, tl*ere was not more
than half of the people were sup-
plied with beef.
The program opened by ft piece
played on the guitar and wistled by
Miss Maude Kirch, ol Guthrie,
which was charming.
Key. Jamison, of Guthrie, was
the first speaker 011 the platform,
which he spoke to the audieMcc for
about one hour and a h 5f, then
dinner was announced.
Hey. II. Rogers was the first
speaker after dinner, which he spoke
to a large crowd for about two
hours.
There were a few pieoes of vocal
and instrumental music rendered.
Rev. Jamison was recalled to> the;
floor, and spoke the rest of the
evening.
There were several good speakers
that didn't get to speak om account
of the rain.
Everybody went honieseeniing to.
