Jonathan Henderson, the Lang-
ston fanner who was shot by J. M
Johnson, was in the city and called
at the Leader office. His stor\ of
the shooting differs materially from
that of Johnson'". Henderson de-
clares that himself and son were
shot by Johnson without provoca-
tion, and instead of plowing up
| Johnson's field, he avers that he and
his men were at work building a
fence to divide the contested land,
when Johnson came 4up and shot
twice. The first shot struck Hen-
derson, and the second, his son.
Henderson further alleged that
Johnson had threatened his life a
number of times. Willie Hender-
son, the wounded boy, rested easy
tliis week and it is now thought he
will recover.

Oklahoma s Agricultaral Paper one Year Fne!
I he I Ionic, I' ield and Forum U tin
j only agireultural journal devoted to
the interests of the farmer and the
material interests of Oklahoma and
the Indian territory. It is arelia.ble
; bright, clean, and well printed 10-
; page magazine, and deals with the
special wants of the agriculturist,
1 ruit growers and stock raisers of the
'Territory, and has special depart-
ments devoted to agricultural mat-
ters, livestock, horticulture, dairy-
ing, poultry, apiculture, veterinary,
reliable market summaries, home cir-
cle. young folks, farm organizations,
correspondence, editorial, etc.
The management and editors have
had many years of successful e.xperi-
; once with this class of papers in the
West, and have selected this lerticl
and beautiful country as the best pos-
sible location for a high-class agri-
cultural journal. They are making it
titly and truthfully represent the in-
terests of the great industrial class
to which it is devoted, and there is
not a farmer in all this country that
i can afford to do without it. It is is-
sued monthly, at (Iuthrie, and is onl\
•">0 cents a year.
EXTRAORDINARY OFFKR!
Realizing that we could not fur-
nish our farmer rcad> r - with a more
v aluable premium, we have purchas-
ed lifty yearly subscriptions of the
"Home, Field and Forum Co.," and
will present each of the lirst .Mi fann-
ers who subscribe, or renew their
subscription for the CoriiiKi:, with a
year's subscription to that most val-
uable agricultural journal. This ex-
traordinary offer is certainly one of
which every fanner should take ad-
vantage at the earliest possible mo-
ment. Call or send for sample cop-

The Japanese, by their bravery
and success have won the admira-
tion of the world. They have now
entered upon a triumphal war march
against China herself, on ln;r own
soil, and are determined to push
| their conquering army on to Pekin,
' hi the heart of the enemy's country.
At this distance this looks to be a
I desperate undertaking, as China
could use men for breastworks and
| then have plenty to spare. Still the
number of men are not material if a
! spirit of patrioti in is lacking, and
j this evidently is the difficulty with
China.
Om >f the parties who ' robb< d
the El Reno bank has been found
at Oklahoma City, in the federal
jaii. The rubber hud been arres'cd
for counterfeit nig, and put in jail
at the above named place. Deputy
I'nited States Marshal Hargrove, of
Oklahoma City, thought he must
be the man that was wanted, from
the discriptions given, and at once
telegraphed to .Mr. and Mrs. Saw-
yer, at K1 Reno. As soon as they
received the telegram they took the
lirst train for Oklahoma City, and
were met there by the above depu-
ty, and they were taken to the jail
to identify the robber. Mrs. Saw-
yer went into the cell with the de-
puty, among thirty prisioners and
picked out the robber. There being
no one at the bank but Mrs. Sawyer
when the robbing was done, and
the story that was told by her was
not believed. Mr. and Mrs. Sawyer
have given up all their property to
j debtors, %:id are now living in a
small shack, at Iil Reno.
