Th«- Money Omnium.
There is no other subjeot that so
directly affects every avocation of
life throughout the civilized world
as the money question. And with
the exception of religion, no question
is so deeply shrouded in mystery.
Each individual devotes his time
and attention to his own business or
profession.
And as the money problem con-
Communicated.
A good reputation is an article
that is obtained by potracted efforts
and that only. It will never do
for a young man to sit down and
wait for something to turn up; he
must turn up something for himself.
lie cannot expect any one to neglect
his own affairs to work for him.
If he does he will be greatly mis-
taken. No man lias yet gained a cerns all. it certainlv is evervbodies
world-known reputation through business. And the old adage of the
tiling that is "evervbodies business ia
intercessors—far form it. It is
obtained through his own never
tiring zeal, and unconquerable de-
termination. It is this reputa-
tion, character which, consecrat-
ing the humble circle of the hearth,
will in time extend itself to
the circumference of the horizon.
Can there be conceived a more atro-
cious injury than to filch from its
possessor this inestimable benefit,
—to rob society of charms and soli-
tude of its solace? I can conceive
few crimes beyond it. One's pro-
perty has been plundered only, by
time, to be repaired; but what
period can replace a fallen charac-
ter? He who wound* my person,
physically, wounds that which
medicine may remedy; but what
herb has sovereignty over wounds
of slander? No injury can com-
pete with that which may befal a
110 bodies business" suitably applies
to this question.
Hut there is a class of people that
look after this money business and
they have duped the people in every
nation under the sun in enacting
laws compelling themselves to use
gold and nothing else as a medium
of exchange. Now any one that
will only take time to think can see
that we are compelled to have mon-
ey to exchange our produce, and our
laws compel us to use gold for
that purpose.
Now a person that knows any-
thing is aware of the fact that gold
is one of the scarcest metals in the
world, and he also knows that gold
and gold mines are the property of
individuals.
Now then Mister reader,just stop
and think bow foolish it is to corn-
