ENGINEERS TO STUDY
IN NEW MEXICO CAMP
Oklahoma Agricultural and Me-
chanical college will continue
teaching civil engineering courses
during the summer at the Engi-
neering and Science camp at
Eagle Nest N M These courses
conducted by the college during
the last three summers will be-
gin May 28 and continue through
June 17
The Laguna Vista Lodge in the
Sangre de Cristo mountains at
Eagle Nest is being operated by
A and M college The entire fa-
cilities of the camp will not be
used for instruction however The
modern lodge on the west bank of
Eagle Nest lake always popular
as a vacation resort will be open
the year round for tourists and
sportsmen Barclay Behrendt will
continue as resident manager
The terrain near Eagle Nest is
ideal for practice surveying work
Regular staff members of the Di-
vision of Engineering will conduct
the summer courses in New Mexi-
co At least twenty-five students
are expected to enroll this sum-
mer The courses are open to A
and M students a5 well as stu-
dents from other schools who de-
sire to study for credit
Eagle Nest is on U S Highway
84 between Santa Fe and Raton
It is 90 miles northeast of Santa
Fe and 63 miles southwest of Raton

Beartrack Abducted
In the meantime a car driven
by Paul Beartrack Fairfax and
a companion 72'aul Caynon of
Hominy entered the camp The
bandit held them up ordered all
his prisoners to enter the automo-
bile and demanded that Beartrack
drive eastward
Beartrack said the bandit made
him follow country roads most of
the time The bandit kept the
pistol trained on the prisoners
throughout the ride threatening
to kill them if they attempted es-
cape Police in this area were on the
lookout for the bandit

Murder Charge Will be Filed in
Minneapolis Case Thursday
Minneapolis Minn May 26—
(113)--Ralph Johnson 33 confessed
today that he killed William
Brown 41 president of the Gen-
eral Drivers union because of a
disagreement over union funds
Chief of Detectives James Mul-
lins announced that Johnson an
organizer for the union signed a
statement that he shot Brown
dead last night because "I thought
he had too much money and we
had argued about union funds"
Johnson was taken into custody
early today after he had boasted to
Brown's associates about the slay-
ing In his statement Johnson told
of making a round of bars yester-
day with Brown He said they

Chief of Police Frank Forestal
said Johnson told him Brown
drew a roll of bills about $200
from his pocket while they were
at a bar
"Johnson said he thought Brown
had obtained the money where he
should not have and that he would
take it" Forestal said "We have
not been able to ascertain wheth-
er the money was part of union
dues or Brown's personal funds"
Forestal said Johnson asked
Brown for the money when they
returned to their auto
"Brown refused and Johnson
drew a gun Johnson told me
Brown took a swing at him and
that he then fired two shots"
Officers found Johnson at a
bar The police chief said a
charge of murder would be placed
against Johnson

rector of the Committee for In-
dustrial Organization said today
that he "personally favored" the
election of W S Key as governor
"I think he is the best choice"
Fowler said as we want a gov-
ernor who will fairly and impar-
tially enforce the laws of Oklaho-
ma and support President Roose-
velt and the laws of the nation"
Fowler said the Non-Partisan
league will cooperate with repre-
sentatives of the railroad brother-
hoods in selection of a candidate
for governor
