Ever" Plans Made to Accomodate
Quarter Million Visitors

state fair will open its gates
for the nineteenth time next Satur-
day September 26 with exhibits ex-
ceeding in volume and variety those
or at previt116 loar with an amuse-
ment program on a greatly increased
scale with many features added of
interest to both farmer and city
dweller and with indications that last
year's attendance figure of 206000
for the eight days will be exceeded
greatly
Virtually all exhibits except those
of the usual late comers have been
placed The track has been placed
in splendid condition for the seven
day running horse meeting Build-
ings have been remodeled and
cleaned and two new structures at a
cost of $21000 have been erected
since the last fair—the quarters of
the Oklahoma Saddle Club and the
Eighty-Niners memorial building will
be dedicated September 30
Every county in the state will have
an exhibit at the fair many to be
represented In all departments Okla-
homa A & M College and the state
department of vocational agricul-
ture will have exhibits of special in-
terest to the farmers and the work
of the farm women will be unusually
well portrayed Live stock exhibits
will be shown from twenty states
In the amusement line "Rome
under Nero" gigantic fireworks pag-
eant will headline the program with
Morris and Castle Shows vying with
it for special favor In addition
there will be all the rides and other
features which win the high approv-
al of the children at the exposition
For lovers of fast horses the run-
ning races every day except Sunday
with the derby $1000 added set for
October 1 will be the greatest mag-
net Those musically inclined may
listen to the two drums and the sol-
dier's drum corps which will play
daily in addition to the carnival
band the M K & T band from
Parson's Kansas Oklahoma City's
fameus Kiltie band and the Ponca

Work on Keystone
Road Starts 28th
A work order has been issued by
the state highway department direct
that construction on the Cimarron
township hard-surfaced road start on
September 28
Paul Crane resident engineer on
the Jordan valley reit project has
been directed to take charge of the
Cimarron project The new road will
start at the terminus of the Jordan
Valley road at South Field and ex
tend southeast to a junction with the
Tulsa county pavement at Keystone
following approximately the route of
the present dirt road
Only the grading and drainage
work will be done at this time

First Appearance
The girls'' glee club entertained in
school assembly Wednesday morning
with a beautiful number entitled "The
Dragon-flies" This number was
thoroughly enjoyed by all
