LEADS IN STATE
DEATH AILMENTS
The tragic toll of heart di-
sease in Oklahoma is graphi-
cally illustrated in statistics re-
cently compiled by the Okla-
homa State Department of
Health and made available
through the Oklahoma State
Heart Association
The study covers a five-year
period 1952 through 1956 and
shows that 32769 Oklahomans
died from heart and circulatory
ailments in that period of time
The next leading cause of
death cancer accounted for
15376 clths in the Same per-
iod In Custer county 373 citizens
died from heart and circulatory
ailments in this five-year per-
iod There were 154 deaths from
cancer in the same period
